The rules
Short, and the same for everyone.
Five rules. Every claim, every person, every day. Nothing here changes after you file.
Filing
- You say what happened, in a sentence, and how much. You put down a deposit: a tenth of the claim to begin with.
- The money is in your account in the same moment you file. Not after a review. The same moment.
- A claim can be at most the cap for its kind, and you must be covered for that kind.
Checking
- An independent checker looks at the things that prove the claim: the airline's delay record, the courier's scans, the weather station, the police report number.
- Every check is written where you can see it, as it happens.
- True: you keep the money and the deposit comes back. Not true: the money is taken back, the deposit is kept by the pool, and you cannot file again until you have settled what you owe.
Your word
- Every claim that checks out takes a point off your deposit, down to two percent.
- One that does not puts it back to ten.
The pool
- Premiums go in, and a fifth of each runs the checks. Claims come out. Forfeited deposits go in.
- Anyone can own a share, and take it out at the size it is right now.
Example and real
Before you sign in, everything you see runs on an example that follows these rules exactly and says example wherever you act on it. Sign in with your phone and, where a pool is deployed, the money is real: it moves on Arc, is final in under 0.5 seconds, and a payment costs about $0.001.
